IBM 709, s/n 30

IBM 709 s/n 30 CPU IBM 709, s/n 30 IBM 709, s/n 30

This system is complete except that the line printer has been cannibalized for parts, and about six switch cores are missing from the memory. It was in running condition as recently as 1974, and was last turned on in about 1986 just before being taken down to move out. At that time the memory was not connected, but in the CPU the clock ran and the registers would hold data. The upper half of the switch register would not transfer so it was not possible to try any instructions. This is one of the three 709 systems that were modified to run IBSYS.
